Day 1 of snow… At least we were going to Aya Sofya that morning, so there wasn’t much walking in the snow involved.

BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhuanet) — Some 8,000 Syrians have sought refuge in camps in neighboring Turkey, as the Syrian army continues a deadly operation to crush all signs of dissent against President Bashar al-Assad. Turkey said it will do everything it can to help people fleeing Syria.

Some 150 Syrian refugees crossed the border into Turkey on Wednesday.

More than 8,500 refugees have arrived in Turkey over the past several days and have found shelter in make-shift camps along the border.

Turkish officials are making plans to set up more camps to cope with the situation.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu went to the Syrian border on Wednesday to see the plight of people seeking sanctuary.

Things like this make me still have hope for humanity .

I realize that I have not written about a single dinner since I have arrived. The past two nights...
