It is sad, but he is just having a total mental meltdown. He is clearly delusional if he believes any of the crap he has been spewing lately.

    Why?

    I thought AT&T's buyout means T-Mobile is going bye-bye?

408 area code, that means cali. is that steve jobs' personal number? :P

They won't. Even if this deal gets approved, T-Mobile will remain a separate company. Everything will remain as it is, except the fact that all revenue will go to AT&T.

I consider lack of hardware recalls unethical. They always try to hoard as much money as they can.

I actually hope it's moderately successful. Hopefully then, Apple will see fit to reduce their pricing schema on the iPods.

Realistically, it could go either way. Despite the debacle that is Windows, Microsoft has had a great deal of success with the XBox. I wouldn't be surprised if Zune isn't as bad as most members of MacRumors will make it out to be.

    ~Joe

Really depends on yoru defintion of success. Popularity wise it's been successful (360 is helped solely by the fact it's the only HD player out there right now) but as far as the stock holders and business men are concerned it's been a debacle - they've lost hundreds of millions of dollars in the XBox and have still yet to see a single positve quarter, financially speaking, since it's inception.

I'm honestly surprised by a lot of you. The whole "no single android phone outsells the iPhone!" argument, is foolish and weak. It's a platform war. You basically get ONE CHOICE with the iPhone. Now it's a great choice, but of course it's going to be a top seller as a result. There are so many good Android choices out there that a single model isn't going to dwarf the others. Since there are, you know, options? As a platform it seems iOS is getting whooped on. Does that not register, or are people that much in denial?

Now myself, I like my iPhone, but come on...in this case we are talking about platforms...So weird...

No, it's not a war; the only people who consider it a war are the people who will do anything to prove Apple isn't an innovative and in many ways cutting edge company. Competition? Yes. Competition is good. But if you really look, the majority of Android phones available on the open market sell for less than $100 and most of those sell for less than $50. So for Apple to offer its older model in the same price range is only leveling the field and proving that it's not just Android, but the price that is driving Android's sales so fast. Compete in the same ball fields at the same pricing and you see that Apple picks up many of those people who claimed they couldn't afford one or didn't want to switch to a different provider.

It doesn't really matter at this point. Black or white, it's the iPhone. It'll still sell out.

yah the white iPhone looks fresh as hell!

I'll admit it does look pretty sweet. The metal and white. It seems to work from what I can tell from the pics.

The very least the staff should have done is to have protected the victim as best they could, and stayed with the victim during the seizure. It looks real enough to me, and I've seen plenty.

"appleguy213? I think I'm a Muppet." "I know how you feel." said appleguy321 as he looked around the futuristicly white room they where in. Curiously enough, there was also an orange Muppet with a childlike grin on its face. Then with a pop noise, chrmjenkins changed back to a human. While appleguy123 stayed a Muppet.

Then a door made an noise, that just so happened to sound like a woman in mid orgasm, and opened. In walked a robot with a small head and holding a banana. "Come on, to the bridge with you two." said jav6454. chrmjenkins and appleguy321 followed him, through the moaning doors and up a stair case to the bridge.

nies and lbro where pushing three buttons over and over again in an attempt to look like they where doing something, so that the intruders thought they where important. In walked jav6454 and the intruders. "Welcome to the ship of tomorrow!" announced lbor with enthusiasm that rivaled a fangirl seeing Justine Beaver.

appleguy312 upon seeing nies, squealed with a hatred so intense that his Muppeteer nearly blacked out. nies, not happy about seeing the creeper from the market on his ship, turned to leave. appleguy123, still wanting to be with him, grabbed jav6454's banana, ate it, and trough the peel in front of the overly pompous nies. Who consequently tripped and fell, cracking his head upon the control panel and turned into a trans-dimensional mouse.

What about all of those profits from the XBox 360????? Don't those things just consist of about $8.00 worth of plastic????? :p

umm, actually it's a well known fact that (a) consoles are always sold at a loss to entice customers, and (b) microsoft loses over $100 on each console sold.

they make up for this on the rather large profits made on games and licensing games for the platform...

"iX" = "Ix", which is the nickname for the character Ford Prefect in the book "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

Obviously, the new Apple device is either a digital watch or a towel.

I would think an iWatch would be a great seller for Apple.

Oh great. I'm going to have to tie up my Internet connection for a long period of time to update my 4G iPod touch and iPad 2 for the 4.3.2 update.

I REALLY hope that Apple does incremental updates of iOS starting with iOS 5.0 to save us from tying up the broadband connection for such a long period of time.

Wow. If a little 700MB download ties up your internet, I think you need a new internet.

Apple knows what their doing. They will wait as long as they can on the 5G. Then before competition arises they will release a new one to stay on top. I wouldn't doubt that they announce a new iPod during the WWDC(a month away, eeekkk!). Jobs talked a little bit about the iPod the last few years, at the WWDC.

Then again, Microsoft lost money on every Xbox sold just to get their foot in the door. It's possible they will do the same thing on the "iPod Killer". Time will tell.

Indeed - Apple make money from the sale of iphone hardware whereas Google will only take a percentage.

However, Google's plan is to control OS's because they then make money from their App store and adverts

Apple identified this last year and thus released the Ad-Sense scheme for devs to tempt them to use Apple's App Store over Googles.

Even if Apple and Google both make money from ads and apps... Apple still gets $600 per phone.

Apple has the right idea :D

"Android" can have their marketshare... I don't think it bothers Apple in the least.

I want mine to use the old-school Mac voice that Radiohead used in "Fitter Happier."

Good ol' Fred is still there, from what I've read elsewhere. "... a pig, in a cage, on antibiotics." :D

Does Apple's website specs show this?

EDIT. Nope. Still 9.3 mm thin

I feel another lawsuit coming on.

Class action for 0.01 mm AND I am sure the glue is not dry and it will shrink.

Nothing a little hammer wouldn't fix:-)

I'm going to a MFA writing program in the fall; would love to see how this turns out. I use Word exclusively but can't shake the feeling that there's a better way to do things.

    There already is. ;)

Not for what I'm doing. Pages strikes me as something for newsletters, not writing well-researched articles and novels.

Steve Jobs knew about this in January... this says a lot about his vision. I'm confident that he is already well-prepared for this and has something up his sleeve to counter it.

There will NOT be a sudden exodus to Argo from iPod. If it ever happens, it will be gradual and easy to fix.

I would agree, but then I think about how Microsoft was late to the party regarding the internet and their release of IE. The exodus from Netscape to IE was virtually overnight.
